Moving Out

Home / Moving Out

At Crown Key Realty, Inc., we want to ensure that moving out of one of our managed rental properties is a smooth and stress-free process for our tenants. Here’s a sample move-out checklist for a tenant in a rental property managed by Crown Key Realty, Inc.:

Provide Notice

The first step in the move-out process is to provide written notice to Crown Key Realty, Inc. of your intention to move out. Check your lease agreement to see how much notice you need to provide, and make sure to submit your notice in writing.

Schedule a Move-Out Inspection

Once you’ve provided notice, you should schedule a move-out inspection with one of our agents. During this inspection, we will assess the condition of the property and note any damages or issues that may need to be addressed before you move out.

Clean the Property

Before moving out, you should thoroughly clean the property to ensure that it is in the same condition as when you moved in. This includes cleaning appliances, floors, and bathrooms, and removing any trash or personal items.

Repair any Damages

If there are any damages to the property, you should arrange to have them repaired before you move out. This could include patching holes in the walls, fixing broken fixtures, or replacing damaged flooring.

Return Keys and Remotes

On the day of your move-out inspection, you should return all keys and remote controls to Crown Key Realty, Inc. Make sure to return any additional copies of the keys that you may have made.

Cancel Utilities

Before moving out, you should arrange to have all utilities, such as electricity and water, transferred out of your name. You may need to provide final meter readings to the utility companies.

Settle Outstanding Charges

If you owe any outstanding charges, such as late fees or utility bills, you should settle these before you move out. Failure to do so could result in additional charges or legal action.

By following this move-out checklist, you can ensure that your move-out process goes smoothly and that you leave the property in good condition. If you have any questions or concerns about the move-out process, our team is always available to help.
